To be human
Long before we built machines, we built communities.
Around fires and across oceans, we told stories, kept promises, remembered names. Connection is what drove us to build great cities, sail the oceans, and believe in the collective good.
Then the world opened — and we scattered across it.
For most of our history, the only community we knew was the one we were born into. Now we live more distributed lives than ever before: in new cities, in new countries, among new faces. We've learned how easily we fall out of touch with people we once knew by heart, how easy it is to feel alone in a crowded city.
